Event Week

General Information

• Competitors perform at their own risk.
• Competitors must report to the Backstage Marshall at least 15 minutes before their class commences.
• Season Tickets must be named, are non-transferable, and cannot be replaced if lost.
• Backstage access is restricted to teachers, competitors, and competition officials only.
• Dressing rooms are for teachers, competitors, and competition officials only. Please do not use dressing rooms as waiting areas.
• No alcohol is permitted in the dressing rooms, backstage areas, or auditorium.

Car Parking

Car parking is available; however, patrons park at their own risk.

Photography and Recording

The Southern Tasmanian Dancing Eisteddfod Committee supports the protection of children and intellectual property rights. The Committee reserves the right to prevent unauthorised photography and video recording, remove any person undertaking unauthorised recording from the auditorium, and confiscate or delete unauthorised recorded material.

By entering the auditorium, patrons agree to these conditions.

The use of video cameras, cameras, mobile phones, tablets, or any other recording device is strictly prohibited in the auditorium.

Competition Etiquette

Competitions are a fantastic opportunity to gain stage experience, challenge yourself, and enjoy performing. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, all competitors are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect, and professionalism.

Please follow these simple guidelines:

• Be polite, courteous, and a credit to your dance school.
• Encourage and support all dancers, regardless of skill level or background.
• Show kindness, respect, and compassion to others.
• Congratulate winners and be a good sport. Support fellow competitors while maintaining appropriate noise levels during performances.
• Bullying of any kind, including in person, on social media, or via text messaging, will not be tolerated.
• Speak to your teacher or a committee member if you feel uncomfortable about any situation.
• Be ready when called, but do not move into the wings until the previous competitor has completed their performance and exited the stage.
• Keep noise to a minimum in the wings and stand well back from the stage. If you can see the audience, they can see you.
• Ensure costumes are covered at all times when in front-of-house areas.
• The adjudicator’s decision is final. Adjudicators are professionals and cannot discuss decisions with competitors.
• Do your best, enjoy your performance, and have fun.
